Thank you so much, Sandra! When drawing portraits, I always struggle trying to capture a likeness. Knowing you like Jared, it means a lot to me that you like my drawing so much! He's pretty cool, isn't he? Haha!
Haha! I felt the same when I first heard them. Many years ago, their song, "Attack," and the music video for "From Yesterday," made me an instant fan. I was fortunate to see them perform live once, and it was awesome! If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. I love their sound, kind of atmospheric at times.
Thanks for the watch!! I'll definitely watch you as well, my fellow Echelon!
30 Seconds to Mars likes to tour a lot, so you might get another opportunity to see them. It actually wasn't too expensive. They're pretty reasonable as far as cost goes. Sometimes they sell more expensive tickets and you can meet them in person. I haven't done that yet, but maybe someday!
Thank you so much!! I spend a lot of time using tortillons to blend the skin tones, gradually building up layers. Though I must say, after seeing your gallery, you're very talented with blending skin tones as well! I'm flattered that you like my work!
Haha, yep mostly tortillons. Usually, I'll lightly shade in the area with an H or F pencil, to build up the tones, then smooth them out with the tortillons. When shading, be careful not to press too hard, or the paper will wear down. That's happened to me before too, so I know what you mean. For paper, I like to use a thicker stock such as a smooth bristol, which should help when blending.
Hey, I'm always learning too! It's always good to learn new techniques. That's what I like about deviantArt. So many talented artists, I'm always inspired seeing what others come up with!
